Refining

There’s a book my best friend gave me a while ago and it’s about times when you may get angry and why or how you should cool down. “be angry but don’t blow it! - Lisa Bevere ”
A section I have been reading is about being born angry… It speaks about God refining us and referring to silver.
“When gold or silver is refined it is put in the fire at high temperatures until it liquefies. Then the dross and impurities rise to the surface and become apparent to all who witness the process. The metallurgist at this point skims off the dross and then allows the metal to cool again. This process is then repeated until the precious metal is free of contaminants and alloys that will weaken it”
God puts us in the furnace of affliction or hardship, he puts us in there repeatedly until all the impurities are gone and our spirit and our strength cant be weakened. This takes time and a furnace is not something you can escape from, you can’t depart from the process until you reach a state of purity. I believe God puts us through hardships so that we can be strong Christians and fearless amongst all. So when times of hardship come I believe we should be thankful that God has faith that we will reach a stage of purity and become as strong as ever in his eyes so that we can glorify his name…it shows that we are actually worth the refinement which we should all be thankful for and I hope God sees how much I really am. Amen
